Serve on tunnbröd (thin flatbread) with almond potatoes, chopped onion, sour cream, and dill. Open the can outdoors and rinse the fish before serving.

Classic Tunnbröd & Almond Potatoes

Ingredients:
  • 1 can of surströmming
  • 4-6 pieces of tunnbröd (Swedish flatbread)
  • 4-6 almond potatoes, boiled
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons sour cream
  • Fresh dill
  • Butter
Instructions:
  1. 1.Open the surströmming can outdoors, underwater to contain the aroma
  2. 2.Spread butter on the tunnbröd
  3. 3.Layer with sliced almond potatoes
  4. 4.Add surströmming fillets
  5. 5.Top with chopped red onion
  6. 6.Add a dollop of sour cream
  7. 7.Garnish with fresh dill
  8. 8.Roll up and enjoy the traditional way
